Our friends Johanna and Ozzie Mutz decided to turn this past weekend into a weekend focusing on celebrating fall and spending time with old and new friends. A bunch of us met at their house Saturday morning for yummy waffles and then headed off to Homestead Farm in Poolesville, MD. Both Colin and I grew up going to Homestead every year (sometimes multiple times a year!) to go pumpkin and apple picking. After choosing the perfect pumpkins, fending off bees while enjoying caramel apples, and buying homemade goodies in their country store, we hopped back in the car and drove over to Rocklands Farm. Colin and I grew up with a friend named Greg, whose family has starting marketing the yummy things they grow on their farm. They were hosting the Old Seneca Artisans Festival on Saturday, and we stopped by to look at artwork, catch up with old friends, buy sustainably-grown apples, and eat some grilled sausages.

After Rocklands, we stopped by my parents' house to get outfitted for the 20s party later that night! It was fun for me to get to share our crazy basement full of costumes with my post-college friends...as most high school and college friends have gotten to experience its craziness! The day continued when we returned to Ozzie and Johanna's apartment... some of us started watching the Michigan game, while others of us went to Crisp and Juicy to get some yummy grilled chicken. After a disappointing loss (I missed it while napping on the couch), we all headed back to our own homes to get dressed for the 20s party!

The 20s party was a blast, complete with music from the 1920s and prohibition cocktails for everyone. Thanks for suggesting such a fun weekend, Ozzie and Johanna!
All dressed up for the 1920s.
Colin found wikipedia-backed reasons for wearing that Chinese tunic...just ask him sometime
come back when I am home and we can REALLY have fun in the dress up basement!! :) xo
